Hope for Heroes

ESA's Hope for Heroes program provides an opportunity to show appreciation for military men and women as they guarantee freedom here in the USA and around the world. Hope for Heroes Week falls the week of Veteran’s Day in November. Each year, chapters are encouraged to hold a special program or event during the week to support military members, their  families  or  veterans.  While  many  members  engage  in  Hope for Heroes activities throughout the year, during this one special week we all try to do something  extra special.

                                                              ESA for Literacy

ESA for Literacy combines a number of different projects to help members develop hands-on programs in their communities to create enthusiasm for reading or to simply instill the love of a good book into the lives of children and adults everywhere. The ability to read is a skill that many people take for granted, but the reality is that 25,000 Americans lack even the most basic reading abilities. Members of ESA  understand the importance of the ability to read and sharing the gift of reading. There are many projects you can become involved with, whether you are working alone, with a group, or with your entire community. It does not take long to share the gift of reading, but it is a gift that will last a lifetime.
